Our Services
Henning Pilates and Rehabilitation is an integrative physical medicine practice with a wide range of client services emphasizing Movement Therapy to improve overall well-being, reduce pain and restore function. We offer private therapy sessions as well as supplementary conditioning options found in very small group classes, and educational-based workshops.
We offer compassionate, knowledgeable and professional services whether you're rehabilitating from an injury or simply looking to move more efficiently in your body.
Who We Help
We’re sure everyone can think of at least someone they know who (if not themselves) is currently experiencing pain, aches, muscle imbalance, or muscle fatigue. Many have jobs where they are bound to a desk, sitting all day long, have a past or current injury that never feels “quite right”, or spend too much time on their electronics. This causes discomfort, muscular imbalances and dysfunction from the neck all the way down to the feet. These muscle imbalances affect everything that we do. They can cause poor posture, odd gait, frustration, fatigue and can eventually cause muscle pulls, strains or even tears.
How Does It Vary From Traditional Physical Therapy or Fitness?
Just because you have an injury or imbalance doesn’t mean you can’t get a good workout! We use a combination of Pilates, Physical Therapy exercises, fascial release and movement education to provide a low-impact, total body movement session targeted to each individual body. Our studio is a private space where each individual body is evaluated for its specific needs and every session is customized for that client.
Very different to traditional Pilates at your local gym, our studio’s goal is to teach proper body mechanics and form - encouraging client participation and education so that each student is able to better understand their body and optimize their well-being. Rehabilitation Pilates aims to move the body in a pain-free way, allowing each client to move more, re-align, restore proper body function, regain confidence and actually enjoy themselves!
We differ from the traditional physical therapy program as well. In many PT clinics, a patient sees their Therapist for hands-on work, then is handed off to an aide with a sheet of exercises and expected to simply adhere. Physical Therapists are also bound by insurance to only treat the specific area indicated on the patient’s prescription. Many times, the area of the body that is hurting is a result of a movement issue, instability or imbalance elsewhere in the body. Our individualized approach allows us to evaluate each client and treat the body as a whole, tackling muscle imbalances, flexibility issues as well as any acute injury each client may have. Our practitioners are skilled at reading the unique story your body tells, and treating everything from the bottom of your foot to the top of your head.
